funny how the best shows disappear silently from this site

i know they were here a month ago, wanted to post links now, but they are gone

1973-12-02
grand segue: wharf rat > mississippi 1/2 step > playin´ > MLB > he´s gone > truckin´ > stella - e: dew
MLB comes out of one of the spaciest ever, mind blowin´ playin´

1973-10-30
dark star sandwich
dark star > MLB > dark star > stella > eyes > wrs > lig

these 2 are beauties. try to get them

mlb jam is based on paul kantner´s ˝your mind has left your body˝ from ˝baron von tollbooth & the chrom nun˝ 73 album. the line up on original studio track was: jerry - steel, jorma - lead, paul kantner - 12 string, vocals, grace - piano, vocals, david freiberg - keys, vocals, jack casady -bass, mickey hart - gongs and water pipes, john barbata - drums. a real gem

you have left your body, be aware if you care
your mind has left your body and for this moment you are

under the polar ice cap in a place we call home
how is it there white bear like that where you grow

now all of you come back to here and now elsewhere to there
move on the other way where...
do you find yourself floating growing there

riders of the rainbow
let it grow let it grow

you can exercise your mind on where you want to go
and you can see the city lights flashing 2000 miles below you

you can feel the sands of zanzibar or pierce the nearest sun
find out what and who you are and if you need to run

riders of the rainbow
let it grow let it grow

there is one moment in your life and it can come @ any time
and you remember all of what went on from the instant you were born
thru your early years

and if you can fasten on that moment and expand thru the afterglow
you can reverse your mind in time and travel back to when

the earth was formed
the sky was born
and the universe began

riders on the rainbow
let it grow let it grow

you have left your body
return when you may

save it for another day...beyond you

(paul kantner/1973 by god tunes)

I'd forgotten there was even an MLB jam in that show!
That was an interesting tour, where the big jams came in the Truckin's....

I was excited in September to see that the Taper's Section had the complete Seastones>Playing in the Band from 9-21-74. The Playing itself is not so hot; in fact it peters out into a drum solo; but the Seastones! Thirty minutes long, and Garcia joins in the second half for some heavy space music! Highly recommended if you don't mind bass drones and strange noises.

(This page also has a brief Clementine studio jam from '68....I wish Lemieux had posted more of this session.)
